For starters, the easiest way to take off with your organic gardening venture is to start with vegetables. Besides, if you love this stuff, you will be able to gain more from the hard work that you have poured into your gardening skills.
The Vegetables
So what are the vegetables that will be ideal for this set up? Here are some.
Spinach and Silverbeet
These two are related. They are very easy to plant and grow. You will not find it hard to obtain such types even if you are a novice with your gardening trick. You just have to remember that spinach will thrive in places where the climate is cool. Silverbeet, on the other hand, can be around all year long. It can also grow in temperate places.
The trick in planting these types is to keep them watered especially during the hot season. You must apply organic fertilizers on your plants once a month to achieve success.
Radish
This will be easy for you. This plant thrives throughout the year in temperate zones. And just within a matter of four to five weeks, you can harvest your vegetables. Radish matures fast from being a seed until it is ready to be eaten. And because it grows that quick, you will have less problems regarding pests.
Zucchini
This is also one of the easiest vegetables to grow. It is best to plant this during the warm season. You will find this exciting because it yields a lot. Talk about seeing the fruits of your labor.
But as this plant can grow really quickly, you have to observe it dutifully. You don't want it to end in the trash because you didn't harvest it when it was the right time to do so.
Chilies and Capsicum
You can grow these plants in pots. They must be planted during a warm season or else they will not bear fruit. You can use organic pellets as a fertilizer for these two. Apply those on the plants every four or even five weeks until they start bearing flowers.
While capsicum can be harvested any time, chilies must be left to mature on their plants.
There are many other vegetables that you can use to start off your gardening. It is advisable to choose the ones that you love eating. This way, you will really be able to save in the process because you are going to consume what you have grown.
Organic gardening can indeed be fun especially when you are harvesting the output of your hard work.
